When the choosing happens, Will hopes to be chosen for battleschool but is fated to be a Ranger. Rangers are a mysterious group of people who act as the spies. Will needs to learn to fight and camouflage himself. The kings best men die of mysterious causes. Will and his mentor Halt take up the mystery. This series is one of the best in history.
THIS IS WHAT MY MUM THINKS: It is a great book for pre teen boys. It has friendships, mentorship, finding your purpose and developing skills through hard work and determination. There is also lots of fighting with traditional weapons.
