This book is pretty new, it was published in 2018, 7 years after Inheritance. It is a collection of 3 short stories about the events following the last book when Eragon left the known lands of the Empire.
Eragon has to deal with the next generation of dragon riders. He also needs to construct a vast dragonhold for all the new riders and dragons. Angela the herbalist and Solmbum come to visit. They bring news of Alagaesia and the Urgals tell him the famous stories of their kind.
Murtagh has been exploring Alagaesia with Thorn and getting into trouble with a fight at an inn over a mysterious field of stone.
Eragon is faced with the most problems, dealing with all the races in the known world; Dwarves , Elves, Urgals, Dragons and Humans, keeping the dragon eggs safe and curing the Eldunari. Will he succeed in his quest to reform the riders?
